Another week that has whizzed by in a flash!
In English, this week, we have started our unit of work on Shape Poems. We have been looking at some different shapes poems and talking about how poems are written differently to other pieces of writing. We talked lots about lines of poetry and not sentences. The children worked in pairs to write their own Ocean Themed Shape Poem. They used their purple pens to edit and improve them and then wrote a neat copy. Next week we will be writing some more poems.
In maths we have been solving some puzzle type problems. We have solved puzzles using numicon and digit cards.
The highlight of this week was our visit from 'Prickly Pigs'. This Otley based charity came on Thursday to talk to the children about the work they do with hedgehogs and how the children can help to protect and keep them safe. Thank you to all of you for your generous donations of cat and dog food.
We also had our Make The Rules Day today which the children all enjoyed.
Next week we have our trip to Harlow Carr Gardens. The children have all been given a note today with important information and reminders about this trip. Any questions please come and ask.
I can't believe we only have 3 more weeks left. I am sure they will be very busy ones.
Happy Weekend!
