A great first week back!
We started the week off by releasing our butterflies. We had 5 altogether which had been carefully looked after by ME in the holidays. The children enjoyed watching them develop and finally being released.
In English we have started a new book called 'Somebody Swallowed Stanley'. The children have been making predictions about the story and describing the main character 'Stanley'. The book has also inspired some great discussions about looking about our environment and plastic pollution.
In maths we have been very busy. We have been recapping on mental and written strategies to solve both arithmetic and reasoning problems. We have also had a recap on both 2D and 3D shapes.
On Wednesday the children enjoyed an afternoon of testing with Mrs Hand. They were testing their lunchboxes to see if they could be sent across a rope. Part of their design brief was that the boxes must be able to be sent across a rope to the Pirate Ship.
We have also been busy getting ready for Sports Day. We look forward to seeing some of you there on Wednesday morning.
